Pre-Kindergarten

Our Pre-Kindergarten children seem so confident coming into the computer lab.  They quickly remembered the procedures from last year and were able to be an example to any new student this year. In our Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten classes, fun websites are usually used.  Learning to maneuver the mouse is quite an accomplishment and many master this skill very quickly.  The tablets are such an amazing addition to our curriculum, and are being used in the classroom; however, every few weeks the students will bring them to the lab and we will investigate a new app.  We did that this week with Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Tidwell's classes.  We are very relaxed...sometimes just sitting on the floor or sometimes at the tables. There are so many different apps to choose from, and this week we just had fun with Peppa Paintbox. I love seeing  the children's reactions to the skill they are practicing.

Love love this group of children..

Have a wonderful weekend.

Elementary P.E.

The first few weeks of P.E. we will be working on tossing and catching, going to the playground, and loco motor skills.  Whenever P.E. class is in the gym, we will always do exercising and running laps before we do an activity.  We are looking forward to a great school year!

Pre-School-3 Year Olds

Three year old children learn very quickly, and already these children have adapted to their schedules.  Mrs. Pickard and Mrs. Roger's classes come to the lab at 8:15 on their scheduled days.  Actually, it is quite a journey just from their classroom to the lab, but they handle it beautifully.  The children always come into the lab and sit on the floor in front of the big screen on the wall.  I will demonstrate the website that we will be exploring for the day, and then each child goes to their designated computer.  Learning to use the mouse is a motor skill that is challenging for their little hands, but is a skill that is quickly mastered.  The tablets will be used in the classroom, but occasionally will be used in the lab as well.
This week we were matching shapes on www.abcya.com/pre-k/skills/shape match. The children did great...and was fun to hear
"I did it."

Adorable ...is all I can say.

Have a great weekend.

Pre-School-2 year olds

If you want to see adorable, then visit the 2 year old class.  Spending a few minutes with them on Monday morning was such a treat for me.  My goal for now is for them to get to know me and for me to have some interaction with them. The children had play time before I came, so were actually ready for some quiet time and circle time.  Children love to be read to, and these 2 year olds are no exception.  They were good listeners.  Monday mornings are going to be a special time for me each week.

Again..'adorable' is the word for this class.

Have a wonderful weekend.
