Pre-Kindergarten Computer Class

Pre-Kindergarten Computer class is always an adventure. Their progress from last year to this year is truly amazing.  Sometimes I am able to  coordinate the websites I use with their classroom curriculum.  Each week we will color and print their letter of the week, which is always fun. This week we were working with coloring activities and puzzles on www.sproutonline.com. I love it when I hear "I did it."  They are precious.

Have a great weekend.

Kindergarten Computer Class

Kindergarten computer class time is always exciting.  This 9 weeks our computer skills lessons have been about the special keys on the keyboard that help us understand about word processing. Most of the students are very familiar with playing their games and using some of these same keys, but obviously they have different meanings with word processing. The more we practice of course, the easier it becomes.
We also were able to enroll in  the full version of Starfall on our lab computers and their classroom tablets. I am sorry this subscription does not cover the students' home devices.
  Kindergartners are fun....

Have a great weekend.

2nd Grade Computers

Some of our early class periods are spent with review of basic computer skills and the history of our computers....we talked about how glad we were to have these people invent the fun things we have today....like Chrome books....We said that in 25 years from now we will not believe we used to use something like Chrome books. :)

Open House is just a week away and having a printed document of a favorite scripture hanging in the hall  is always a must for 2nd grade.  This year the scripture is Galatians 5:22.  We all strive for these qualities of the Spirit daily....2nd graders are too.

Have a wonderful Labor Day holiday..

Elementary PE

Coaches Carter and Freud's PE Blog

9/1/16

August is now behind us, but the hot weather is still with us which has created issues with PE coupled with the elementary playground still under construction.  We have also had to deal with the loss of the gym due to the installation of new lighting and the gym undergoing a new paint job.  To make matters worse, we have lost the air conditioning in the gym which results in activity adjustments.  We have had to resort to playing some of the games normally reserved for the winter months when activities outdoors are not possible.  Our students have adjusted fairly well, but all of us are anxious to enjoy being outside and especially checking out the renovated playground.
