Elementary PE

Coach Freud's Corner
January 30, 2018

As we await the appearance of Punxsutawney Phil and his prediction of how much longer we will have winter, the PE department is taking advantage of any fair weather days that we have.  We try to get our students out of the classroom as much as we can in order for the to receive the vitamin D from the sun as well as fresh air.  We are constantly monitoring the temperature and wind chill when making our decisions regarding playing outdoors.

Elementary Music

The 1st and 2nd graders did a wonderful job performing "The Big Chill" last Thursday evening!  The 3rd graders will be working more on learning the notes of the musical staff by playing a treble clef game, and the 4th graders will continue learning to play the recorder in class.  The PK4, K, 1st and 2nd have been working on a musical snowman picture that will be coming home in a few weeks.  They will be put on display in the hallway for a while first!

Fourth Grade Computers

February is the month of  'love' and we are taught from a very young age the amazing love that our God had for all of us on earth when He allowed His son to come as a baby.  John 3:16 is the text that is used as an acrostic spelling the word 'Valentine.' The students had several word processing skills in order to complete the assignment...and the end product is outside the computer lab...very impressive!!
The fourth graders will be very busy the rest of the year with research of their Famous Tennessean, a poster or Glogster of their character, and an Emaze presentation of Tennessee.
Of course, keyboarding is practiced every class period.

Soo proud of these students!!
Have a good weekend,
Mrs. Speck
